Production Press, Inc. Press Release

Production Press Inc. Announces Acquisition of Wood River Printing

Production Press Inc. owners, Joe and Brad Racey are announcing the acquisition of Wood River Printing in Wood River, Illinois.

Wood River Printing led by the president and owner David Wilson is a fourth generation family-owned business that produces approximately $2 million annually in sales. With a current staff of 16 employees they serve customers throughout the United States with the majority being in St.Louis, Missouri and Metro East Illinois.

This acquisition complements each company, as they are both family-owned multi-color printers where their quality work has stood the test of time. The addition of Wood River Printing will help solidify and expand the company’s market share in the St.Louis and surrounding area. Wood River Printing is a natural fit to help accelerate the growth strategy to Production Press Inc. whose current annual sales are $6million and has a staff of 48 employees including two sales representatives covering the St. Louis and Alton area. Production Press Inc. has implemented a growth initiative over the past year and half, which includes the addition of 7 major pieces of state-of-the-art production equipment. Upgrades in equipment and added services now include: foil stamping, embossing, die-cutting, direct mail services, presentation folders and the Heidelberg Full Size 40 inch Four Color Press. The newest equipment having just arrived this month is the Presstek 34DI Digital Offset Press. The addition of this digital press will enable Production Press to continue to produce high quality fast turnaround print jobs in an increasingly demanding marketplace at a competitive price. In late 2006, Production Press Inc. acquired Lincoln Land Spiral Binding to round out its complete in-house bindery services. This operation provides finishing options of in-line tabbing, spiral, wire-o and perfect binding.

Production Press Inc. and Wood River Printing will operate under their existing names. Brad Racey as general manager of Production Press and president of Wood River Printing will head these operations and David Wilson will continue overseeing Wood River Printing as their general manager. With this new organization structure and new equipment, both Production Press and Wood River Printing will be poised to cross utilize equipment and services that will strengthen them together as competitive premier printers in Central Illinois, St. Louis and the surrounding Metro East Area.
